HOST DUTIES - PRIOR TO EVENT

The host captain should send the following information to all other team captains early in the week that league is being played at their club:

  • Review HOST DUTIES DURING EVENT list of responsibilities (see below)

    • Decide what will be handled by captain(s), head professional, golf shop staff, etc.​

  • Review breakfast/lunch menus with food/beverage directors

    • See "Buffet Lunch" section below...​

  • Send email to all City League team captains early in the week. Email should include the following information:

    • Transportation

      • Are caddies available and what is the fee?​​

      • Are riding carts available and what is the fee?

      • Are push carts available and what is the fee?

      • Can players bring their own caddies? Push carts? Electric push carts?               Carry their clubs themselves?

    • Dress Code

      • On the course and in the clubhouse...​

    • Cell Phone Policy

      • On the course and in the clubhouse...​

    • Directions

      • Include any road construction detours if necessary.

  • Forward the event information email above to your own team players.

  • Submit your team lineup as usual on the TwinCityLeague.com website

    • Include player names, each player’s handicap index and all riding cart/push cart/caddie requests​.

    • Must be in by Wednesday afternoon at the latest.

HOST DUTIES - DURING EVENT

Note: It is up to each club to decide who handles which responsibilities (captain(s), head professional, golf shop staff, etc.)

  • Bag Drop

  • Continental Breakfast

    • Location? (inside locker room, inside club, outside, etc.)​

  • Check-In

    • Hand out scorecards

    • Get each individual's club affiliation and member # (to bill for food)

    • Note: total cost of food provided (breakfast and lunch) should be about $40/person including tax and service charge

  • Carts

    • Cart signs with player names
  • Caddies

    • Communicate fees/suggested tip amount to players

  • Driving Range

    • Can players take carts to range or should they walk?​

  • Turning in Scorecards

    • Inside, outside, golf shop, dining room?​

  • Scoring

    • Request: if possible, scoring should be done/posted in the lunch location so it can be easily viewed by all players while eating

    • Tally team scores

    • Rank teams 1-24

    • Announce Low Gross 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Positions 1, 2 and 3

    • Announce Low Net 1st place (only) for Positions 1, 2 and 3

    • Post all individual scores​ through Golf Genius after the event

  • Hand Out Golf Balls

    • 1st place in gross and net position = 3 golf balls​

    • 2nd place gross in each position= 2 golf balls

    • 3rd place gross in each position= 1 golf ball

    • Note: all tied players are awarded the same number of balls...

    • Note: Players cannot win golf balls for both Gross and Net

      • Gross trumps Net​

  • Buffet Lunch

    • Location? ​(upstairs, downstairs, inside, outside, etc.)

    • Note: total cost of food provided (breakfast and lunch) should be about $40/person including tax and service charge (this is for breakfast and lunch)

    • There are now 72 players

    • 1:00 (for 8:30 starts) and 1:30 (for 9:00 starts) is an accurate time for food to be ready to keep it fresh

  • Send limited scores/results to newspapers

    • StarTribune (preps@startribune.comand Pioneer Press (sports@pioneerpress.com

    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall gross individual names and scores

    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place club​s in today's event

    • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place clubs in overall City League standings
